Visit Greenland har taget initiativ til at udarbejde denne kapacitetsanalyse for Qaqortoq, i samarbejde med Destination Management Organisationen (DMO) Innovation South Greenland, med henblik på at undersøge hvornår turismekapaciteten inden for de tre kategorier – Overnatning, Bespisning og Ture/Oplevelser – kan forventes at komme under så stort pres, at den ikke længere kan imødekomme efterspørgslen.

Grønland har investeret i ny infrastruktur med tre nye lufthavne de kommende år, i Nuuk, Ilulissat og Qaqortoq. Tilgængeligheden til Grønland bliver øget, og rejsemønstrene ændres. Derfor er det afgørende at vi kan håndtere et øget antal gæster, og sikre at vi udnytter landets kapacitet bedst muligt, så turismeudviklingen gavner hele landet.
